A Brief History

The Chicano Squad was a special unit within the Houston Police Department formed by a group of Latino officers in the 1970s. The squad aimed to address the rising crime rates within Houston's Hispanic community by building trust with residents and fostering better cultural understanding between the police force and the people they served.
